Welcome to the Tigers! My name is Ian Massaro. I will be managing the Tigers this season with Eric Guise as our coach.
My son, Macray (Mac) and Eric’s son, Beau are on the team. Our goal is to teach our players the basics of hitting, fielding, throwing and base running but our main goal is for the kids to have fun. Unfortunately, at this level there is crying in baseball and it is ok. We know the kids will get tired, hungry, thirsty, etc. As coaches we will do our best to handle the situation but may ask for parent assistance if needed.
If you are new to tee ball below are just a few points about how the games will run:
- Games are 5 innings or 2 hours of play – I have coached tee ball in the past and 5 innings or 2 hours is a long time for the kids especially if it is a warm day. The coaches of both teams may make the decision to only play three or four innings based on how the kids are doing.
- No score is kept in tee ball
- All the players bat every inning. No outs are recorded.
- We will rotate all the players so they get a chance to play every position. Pitcher tends to be the most popular position because most of the balls are hit in that direction. Every player will get a chance at pitcher
Please let me know if you have a specific question about the games.
Below is our roster:
Obviously with the Coronavirus, our season has been delayed. We are in wait and see mode at this point. Per the league, the goal would be to start the season the second week of May but please do not hold us to that time. We will keep you posted as soon as we receive updates from the league.
We are looking forward to meeting the players and having a fun season.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me at email@example.com or Eric at firstname.lastname@example.org.
